Things I Don’t Get On With While Using The Bullet Journal System

I love the bullet journal it has provided me with a flexible way to plan my life and also allows me to be creative with it. I am obsessed with stationery and this also gives me a reason to own way more pens than anyone could ever need and hoard roles of washi tape. There are parts of the bullet journal system that I just can’t keep up with; I don’t know why they just seem to go to the bottom of the to-do list. But that is what’s so brilliant with the bullet journal because you can add pages in or out, if it is not working for you then take it out that is fine too. There shouldn’t be any pressure to include pages to your journal just because other people add it to theirs.

Things I Don’t Get On With While Using The Bullet Journal System

Habit Tracker

I cannot for the life of me keep up with a habit tracker, I start off really well but as the month goes on I gradually forget to keep up with it. I have decided that they are just not for me. If you don’t know what a habit tracker is, it is where you write down any habits you want to keep doing every day of the month and tick it off as you go. For some people, it acts as a prompt to get it done so that they can tick it off their list. But that really hasn’t happened the way I thought it would with me, I just end up leaving it and it looks like I haven’t showered in 2 weeks (which is not true).

Mood Tracker

Maybe it is just trackers, in general, I can’t get on with, but again I always forget to track my mood each day. I find it really hard to determine an overview of my mood for that day. Your mood is a weird thing because some days it can change every hour and some days it just stays constant the whole time. I just don’t get how people track it. I love the idea of it but it is just not for me, unfortunately. Or maybe I should change the way that I do it?

I used to make my bullet journal so colourful and artsy, but as I am getting busier I find it harder to find the time to make it look colourful. I am all for minimal page spreads at the moment. I wrote a blog post about minimal vs colourful and for my to-do lists and weeklies, I make sure they are simple to get the job done. I don’t like having my pages to busy when I have to be productive because it takes my attention away from what I have to do. So I think I have stopped this due to my work schedule not because I don’t like it, but I do love black and white!
