Keep A Routine

To help with the routine of the bullet journal it is a good idea to put it into your routine. I like to write the to-do list the night before so that in the morning when I look at it, it is all ready to go. I always do all the page spreads in one go too so that a month is ready to go the weekend before that month arrives. Then all you need to do is fill it as you go throughout the month.

Have It With You

Take it to work and then you will be able to use it there as well when you take it with you, you are more likely to look at it and be able to see where you are at with your lists. I like to take it in my bag so that if I make plans then it can go straight into the bullet journal as soon as you know it is happening.

Don’t Put Unnecessary Pressure On Yourself To Make It Look Pretty

If you aren’t using the bullet journal to be productive then you won’t make it a part of your routine because it’s not worth it. Focus all your energy on making it useful to you and then you are more likely to maintain having it. I have to have my to-do lists as minimalistic as I can because otherwise, I procrastinate by making the pages look pretty and that’s not the main job of the bullet journal system.

Only Keep The Pages You Use

There is no point having a bullet journal if you don’t keep up with the trackers that you use. The benefit of having one is so you can change it to meet your own needs. I avoid trackers mostly now because I found I don’t keep them up to date and I felt like I was wasting pages. The bullet journal has the flexibility to have whatever pages suit you best to make the most of that because no other planner is as adaptable as that.
