New Interiors That Have Cosied Up My Bedroom

I love interiors there was a time where I wanted to be an interior designer so I love looking at different room styles and seeing which colours go together. When I was decorating my bedroom I went with a mulberry purple colour and white for the walls, a dark brown carpet and some flowery brown and purple curtains. I wanted it to be dark because it’s a place to sleep and be so comfy. I do love it, it’s one of the cosiest rooms in my house, and my mum even agrees with that (she wants it when I move out). I have kinda let my interior excitement extend to other places of the houses. I chose the hall colour, suggested a grey and before I know it my dad had bought samples of different grey colours and we actually all agreed on a light grey colour and wooden floor. It looks amazing (if I do say so myself). I also chose my parent’s bedroom colours and I am trying to have my way with the kitchen now. It’s this awful red colour at the moment and I just can’t bear to look at it anymore.  What would my parents do without me huh?

I have added some new bits in my room to make it cosier, they have probably popped up around my blog somewhere but I haven’t made a post about them specifically so I thought that I would do one now.

Succulents and cactuses

I love flowers and I think they brighten up any room, my only problem is keeping them alive, so I wanted some plants that didn’t need too much loving and just low maintenance to sit on my windowsill and look pretty. I went on about getting a cactus for my room for ages before getting one, probably annoying everybody around me at the time. That it got to the point that I just needed to go for it and go to my local garden centre and pick some up. I also have a couple of orchids but they live in the dining room because there isn’t a place to put them in my room where they will be able to get enough sunlight. Flowers also make great flat-lay props for your blog which is a bonus.

Cushions

My love for elephants is still going strong, so I purchased a couple of elephant cushions. I bought one of them at Sainsbury’s and the other from helptheelephants.com and some of the money you pay them goes to charity which helps look after the elephants which I was so for doing. I love both of them and they always make an appearance at the forefront of my bed when I can be bothered to make my bed.

Throws

I went for a brown furry throw from Matalan to put over my bed which I think they add to the cosy vibes of the room. Anything furry is going to cosy and it’s the best way to bring warmth to the room. I am a bit obsessed with throws I think I have about 3 or 4 so I can change the colours and make my room look different depending on the season.

Books

Ok, so this isn't an interior exactly but I have started putting the books that I am currently reading out on show rather than hiding them all on my bookshelf. I think they make it look like your bedroom is being used and books always give me the image of cosying up in a blanket and drinking tea so why hide all these books that make you feel like that. These books are the ones I am planning on reading throughout 2018, I am currently reading The F Word by Lily Pebbles and it is so interesting so far. It’s the most I’ve read in a long time, and I am so glad that I am returning to reading.
