Plan With Me: Look Through January 2019
I’m not gonna lie, I’ve had no motivation to pick up my bullet journal for a couple of months now but the new year has given me a new sense of motivation- to at least start the year right.
There are many reasons why I haven’t been so into bullet journaling recently- I didn’t know how to get it to fit in with my blog- it always looked out of place in the lifestyle area of my blog. I didn’t wanna get rid of the lifestyle section of my blog because they are the posts that are more for me and I have enjoyed writing them. A little diary of everything that I have been up to. Since splitting my blog into a lifestyle and D.I.Y sections, it has given a space for all my bullet journal and art pieces that I have wanted to write about! It also makes it clearer for people to search for this section of the blog.
Secondly, I stopped changing up my pages so it did get boring, this is what I’ve tried to do this month to experiment again with different page layouts and doodles so I get the creative benefit that I need as it was one of the reasons why the bullet journal appealed to me over other planners.
Finally, I lost my motivation for everything. I can’t put my finger on what happened- I am feeling lost, stuck for where I wanna go in life and really haven’t got this whole adult thing sorted as well as I’d hoped at this point in time. And so I think I went through a ‘grieving’ stage where I just needed time to move on from my expectations and I have a new found sense of motivation to find what I’m supposed to do for the rest of my life now which is good. Onwards and upwards is the only way 2019 can go compared to this year which hasn’t been my best year to be completely honest.
Plan With Me: Look Through January 2019
Index & Key
I started a new bullet journal to mark the new year and so I put in an index and a key which I always find useful. Following that I used a future log to give myself an overview of the year. In this section I always fill in birthdays and when half term holidays are.
Year in pixels and blog calendar
I’ve decided to try a year in pixel spread to track my mood everyday- I know I’ve said previously that this hasn’t worked for me so I decided to change the tracker to a year one rather than a monthly. If I don’t use it, only one page will be wasted.
I’ve decided to put a blog calendar at the beginning of my bullet journal this year just so I can plan some sort of schedule for my blog posts! I’ve only finished January’s one so far but I’m gunna try and get the outline to all of these calendars finished so that I don’t need to worry about creating them and can just fill them in as and when I have the inspiration.
TV & Book Tracker
TV and book trackers are alway fun to have. I’ve given myself a goal of reading 6 books this year. I managed to read 3 books in 2018 so I want to double that this year. I have some unfinished series in my watch list and I need to get around to finishing them so this tracker will come in handy!
Here are my weekly spreads. I’ve decided to keep them to single pages this month because I want a quick overview of how the week should look like and then I’ll do dailies as I go along if I need more space for my actual big break down of my to do list. I have created different variations just to see which one I liked the best. I can already tell that the column one isn’t gonna work because it’s too narrow! Oh well at least I’ll know for next time ey?
I’ve also made some colour scheme shortcuts for any regular tasks that happen throughout the week so I just mark it in that colour rather than writing it each time. It has worked well so far.
I have also made a job application page because I always lose track of who I have applied for, hopefully this will make me feel more organised about the whole thing.
I also haven’t finished my January cover yet but I’ll reveal that on my new Instagram page @design.inspire.yes! I want to do a TV Tracker too to show how far I’ve got through a series so that I actually complete one of them this month.
I’m excited to get back into the bullet journal and I’ve loved putting my stamp on them with little doodles that I’ve drawn free hand or with some stencils that I bought from amazon. I have also added some mandalas as I love making them and it is also extra practice for when I’m creating my artwork.
