Why I Started Blogging?
I have been blogging for a year now, and I decided to switch from my free Wordpress blog to a Squarespace blog as I thought this would be an easier jump into the serious blogging world than going to a wordpress.org site. I am no computer whiz so I didn’t want to have to worry too much about formatting my blog and that way I can focus on creating good content instead and I fell in love with their templates too so it’s a win-win situation.
So a little about me, and why I started blogging…
I am a trainee teacher currently on the PGCE, and working hard during the week to spend my time planning, assessing and marking. So this blog will be my weekend get-a-way. I have not really been into writing to be brutally honest but I have found that blogging has really improved my English skills; through reading other people’s blogs and just trying to get everything that I have in my head onto paper. I have generally found a love for the blogging world and providing my ideas and advice that can generally help other people is what motivates me to keep going and hopefully, this inspires others to do the same thing.
My hobbies include art, photography, bullet journaling and wandering around new places as we become clear on this blog all in good time. Art has been with me since school, I love the freedom that it gives you and can send you off to another world when you are really focussed on a piece of work. I have been loving mandalas and abstract art at the moment, so I am sure you will see a lot of that on this blog. I received a DSLR camera for Christmas and this year is an opportunity to really learn how to use it, and having a blog gives me a reason to practise too. So forgive me while I am on my photography learning journey, as most of you already know, it is a complicated piece of equipment. Bullet Journaling has been with me since November 2016, and so far, I love the freedom and creativity it gives me. I can incorporate everything I love about art into an organised filing system, what’s not to love?
I started this blog to share my insight into all of my hobbies and in the future, I will write reviews about products I use to keep these hobbies growing. I want to share my advice about student life and follow this journey with me when I am moving onto work and adulting- urrrggghhh.
I have also had so many other blogs to become inspired by and I love reading other people’s tips and tricks when they started a blog. My go to ones that I keep going back to are Forever Amber, Wonder Forest, Small Talk Social, Elle and Company, Boho Berry and Planning Routine. Hopefully, one day someone will tell me that I have inspired them to write a blog- when pigs fly- and that would be so exciting to here.
…Remember to never forget the reason you started, it will keep you motivated to keep going through those rough times *cough* traffic and bloggers block *cough* and keep positive that you will progress over time (And, it does take a REALLY long time). I will keep you updated with a diary entry of my first week blogging at some point too.
