How To Set Up 2018 Bullet Journal
By now you should feel rested and recharged for the New Year to start all over again. I hope you don’t feel too much like a Christmas Turkey, and you have all made your New Year’s resolutions. I haven’t made any this year; I just want to continue with the goals that I started in November last year.
2018 only means one thing, need to prepare and organise my bullet journal for the New Year. I love spending time preparing new spreads so that there are blank spaces for new ideas to be written down. I wanted new collections and I love getting creative with the hello pages. It took a couple of hours in an evening to complete but now I am all set for January and I am so pleased with how they have come out. I had such a good response to my December pages that I wanted to add more of these ‘look through my bullet journal’ to my blog monthly.
How To Set Up 2018 Bullet Journal
2018 Hello Page
I started with the double page spread that allowed me to get creative and just experiment with different patterns. I love how it looks on the double page and I had so much fun with creating the different patterns. I just improvise and hope that it comes out looking ok. There was a point whilst I was completing this when I thought it looked so bad, but I managed to keep going and now I think it doesn't look too bad.
On this side I originally hated the '1' but after filling it with some blocked black it started to look so much better. I also used black stars to decorate around. I did the inverse inside the '8' using the uniball pen in white. I love the effect that it created.
I wanted to experiment with different patterns. And also with different light and shades. This side was the lighter side, so I didn't put much black areas on this side. The '0' was also perfect to make a flower like pattern on, and you know hoe much I love flowers.
Books To Read & TV Shows To Watch
I wanted to go with a minimalist spread for these and I really like them. Just a little list of everything I want to read and watch on a double page spread. I also added a few doodles and a banner to make it a little more pretty.
I love having a books to read collection and I want to make more of an effort to read this year. I used to read a lot when I was younger, then I stopped for some reason. It would be great to make a list of all the books I could read and then tick them off once I have completed this spread.
I also have loads of TV shows and films that are coming out soon that I need to remember to watch. This spread is perfect to keep them all on one page and I can also tick them off once I have watched them all.
Blogs That I Love & Yearly Goals
I wanted a double page to write down my yearly goals and blogs that I love. I also made these page-spreads simple and in a list format. I also added some bunting decorations to make the title or break up the sections.
I wanted a page for all the blogs that I have discovered and always want to go back too. I love so many blogs and really wanted a place I could write them all down so that I didn't forget any of them.
I wanted to list all my goals for 2018 too as it is really important to keep reminding yourself of what they are. This is especially useful when you having difficult days so that you can motivate yourself to keep going.
I love having a brain dump page so that anytime I have a blog post idea I have a designated area to write it down so that I don't forget. That's the beauty of a bullet journal you can customise your own pages for your needs.
Here are the pages at the start of my bullet journal for the new year. I didn't need a future log because I started this bullet journal in August this year an already made one of those at the beginning. I love all the banners and doodles and I have created a free printable of how to make a banner in my resource library.
