How To Catch That Travel Bug
One day I want to travel all around the world, and when I get this opportunity I will want to make a diary of all my experiences. In the meantime, I can tell you about all the places that I have been to already and any tips that I have found out along the way! There is always an iPhone in my hand so that I can try to capture the beautiful coastline throughout the world! Photography is a recent hobby of mine and I want to make use of it in an interesting way! This will enable me to share all these experiences with everyone else!
Why do I love to Travel?
Being away from England is great sometimes because it is always raining in my country. When you go to hotter countries you know that even if it is raining, it will still be hot. And they still have less rainy days than England, or it seems like it.
Exploring new places
I love to explore new countries and their cultures because it is incredible the amount you learn when you are over there. It is interesting to learn about new foods and you start picking up some of the language as you go; which is so much more fun than learning it through a computer screen or in a classroom.
I have always been a huge fan of the beach, I never get tired of visiting different beaches around my area in the UK. Each beach is completely different so there is always new things to explore and have a go at. I have already done a few activities including, cliff jumping, sailing (although that was years ago), rock climbing up a cliff edge, paddle boarding and canoeing! There is so much to do by the seaside. I am not one for sunbathing at the beach, I prefer to explore and go swimming in the sea, sunbathing for me, is done around a swimming pool on holiday, in a fabulous hotel!
What are my Travel Dreams?
My ultimate dream is to visit all the beaches in the world and try out different activities along the way! Although I wouldn’t say I am the most adventurous person in the world, I am a big believer in trying different things that allow you to step out of your comfort zone! I also want to visit all the cities in Europe and then America, Australia and New Zealand. I am also thinking about, at some point, doing another volunteering trip but instead of children, I want to do something with Elephants!
4 Different ways to catch the Travel Bug
RESEARCH WHERE YOU WANT TO GO
Planning where you go before you go is a great way to know what you want to do when you are in that country. I always make lists on the attractions of where I would like to go before I get there so I know what I want to do. When I went to Italy, I knew that I wanted to go to the Dolomites and some wine tasting for a day so I even booked that in advance. It was one of my best days there. It is so important to research where you want to go to make the most out of your time there so that you are doing what you wanted to do.
Volunteer for something that is abroad, raise the money and make a difference to the world that we live in. Little things can go a long way and it feels so satisfying knowing that you have made a difference to something/someone in the world. I volunteered with disadvantaged children in Romania. Seeing their face light up when they saw us come in the gate will never leave my memory. It has also encouraged me to do more volunteering at some point in my life. It will also make you get the travel bug to go and explore other countries.
This can be a great way to go through Europe and explore all these countries in one go. I want to do this at some point, it seems like a fun way of travelling! What a better way than to get a bunch of your friends and go on the trip of a life time. I think this is a great idea for the first time travelling across different countries as you have the flexibility to go for as long as you want. I have also loved the idea of doing something like this so that I can see different countries in one go.
There are so many travel blogs that you can follow now, some of my favourites include The Blonde Abroad, Y Travel, Ohh Courture and Hippie in Heals (just to name a few). These all have amazing blogs about what to do in different countries. If these guys cannot make you get excited about travelling then I do not know what will. Instagram and Pinterest have lots of lovely photographs of places all over the world. If you type in a search of a place you want to go there will be endless pictures that will make you want to leave the country tonight.
